This is scarce Webley RIC No.2 revolver chambered in .450CF. The 6 shot revolver has a ramped 3 ¾" barrel, a smooth cylinder with rear ratchet stops, and raised rear lump top strap. These number two revolvers also commonly have quite a severely curved grip with an angled butt as is present on this example.
On the left side of the frame is marked WEBLEY'S R.I.C. No.2 .450CF under the serial number 11237, and above the W&S flying bullet trademark. The revolver is also engraved on the top strap with the retailers address G.H. Daw & Co., 57 Threadneedle St, London.

The company of Witton Daw and Co. operated from 82 Old Bond Street between 1851 and 1852 before moving the business to 57 Threadneedle Street. George Henry Daw began operating under his own name at the Threadneedle St address in 1861 before changing to G.H. Daw & Co in 1880. He left these premises in 1888 and relocated to 166 Fenchurch Street. London.
