A fairly scarce mould with double cannelure.
Always on the lookout for good quality vintage accoutrements, I was fortunate to recently acquire this .450 bore bullet mould for the Martini Henry single shot rifle. This mould has the double cannelure introduced on the Martini Henry Mark III cartridge in 1873. The official List of Changes No. 2661 of August 1873 specifies the Mark III bullet as being made of lead alloy (12 parts lead to 1 part tin), weighing 480 grains, having two cannelures and the rear of the bullet being slightly recessed.
