Daw 80 Bore Percussion Revolver

British percussion revolver actually patented by Pryse & Cashmore.

The Daw percussion revolver was actually patented by Charles Pryse and Paul Cashmore as British Patent No. 2018 on 6th Sept 1855. Ā Most but not all were retailed by George H. Daw of Threadneedle Street, London and they became known as Daw Revolvers.

This Daw revolver is double action, 5 shot, 80 bore (about .38) built to the Pryse & Cashmore 1855 patent. It has a thin blued finish with checkered walnut grips. The barrel is 5 3/8ā€¯ (135mm) long. The revolver was retailed by George Daw and is inscribed on the barrel George Daw, 57 Threadneedle St., London. Patent No. 1449. The right frame is marked Patent No. 1449 and the cylinder is marked No. 1449. Ā This 1449 is actually the patent use number or serial number. The revolver has London proofmarks on both barrel and cylinder.
